Like so many other theatre companies, the last year has meant that we have had to make some difficult decisions.
Sutton Coldfield Musical Theatre Company and our youth group, Sutton Coldfield Musical Youth Theatre, postponed and then cancelled their planned performances, due to COVID-19, but now we are hoping for a better 2021 - for everyone.
We would like to thank all our members, audiences and both Lichfield Garrick Theatre and The Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Hall, for their support during a challenging year.
We have every intention of returning to the stage as soon as we can with something to make us all smile so, look out for any show news here or on our social media platforms.
Until we meet again, stay safe and take care.
Like everyone, the current situation with COVID-19 has meant we’ve had to make some difficult decisions.
This has included suspending rehearsals and postponing our youth group’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Fortunately, we managed to secure new dates for our youth show and, instead of 5-9 May, it is now set to run from 10-14 November at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall.
The town hall has confirmed that tickets already purchased for the original dates will be valid for the re-scheduled dates.
Meanwhile, Sutton Coldfield Musical Theatre Company’s production of The Pirates of Penzance (the Australian version) is still scheduled to go ahead as planned at Lichfield Garrick Theatre from 30 June to 4 July.
We are closely monitoring the current situation, however, and remain in close contact with our host venue which, like all UK theatres, is currently closed. We will provide any updates on our website and through our social media platforms.
Thank you for your continued support. We hope you’ll be able to join us for one of our shows soon.
Until then, stay safe and look after each other, from all at Sutton Coldfield Musical Theatre Company and Sutton Coldfield Musical Youth Theatre.
